Students Leading Collaborative Computing Education is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit bridging the opportunity gap in STEM for under-resourced middle and high school students.
SLCCE was founded by a small group of engineering students at North Carolina State University who saw the opportunity gap in STEM firsthand, many of the schools closest to campus had no computer science or electrical engineering curriculum at all. What began as a single after-school workshop grew into a full university chapter, and then into a model for chapters nationwide.
Today, SLCCE at NC State remains our only chapter, but it's grown into a recurring partnership with local schools that has reached over 400 students, and it's the model we're using to launch new chapters elsewhere.
